Hantangang River Global Geopark Center, Korea’s only geopark-themed museum!

The Hantangang River Global Geopark Center is Korea’s only geopark-themed museum.
According to UNESCO’s definition, UNESCO Global Geoparks are “single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education, and sustainable development. A UNESCO Global Geopark uses its geological heritage in connection with all other aspects of the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

Based on such significance, Geopark Center was established as a museum to promote and provide education on the geological, historical, cultural, and ecological value of the Hantangang to the public and students and, furthermore, to contribute to the sustainable development of habitats in the Hantangang River area.
